Fewer new tractors registered in Europe

Approx. 6.5% fewer 50hp+ tractors were registered in mainland Europe last year and a total of just under 140,000 units.Spain, Portugal and Belgium bucked the trend, but registrations were down in all other countries, including the big three markets of France, Germany and Italy. France remains the most important market, accounting for 33,225 (-6.8%) units. There was a -3.4% drop in the second largest market of Germany (29,315), and despite the 12.3% dip in the numbers, Italy held on to third spot with 15,448 units (17,613 in 2023). When lumped together, these three markets accounted for 77,988 of total (83,623 in 2023) registrations in mainland Europe last year.The Polish tractor market was another casualty, where the market fell by 17% to 8,590 units (10,311 in 2023). The biggest drop was in Hungary, which dropped nearly 49% to 1,446 units (2,824 in 2023).Spain was one of last year’s bright spots where registrations increased by a fifth to 10,390 units.
