New owner for Ursus
Polish tractor manufacturer Ursus has been bought by Ukrainian firm M.I. Crow for approx. €17 million. The purchase price includes the production plants in Dobre Miasto (manure spreaders, trailers and round balers) and Lublin (tractors). The new owner has also bought all machines and equipment within the plants, documentation of Ursus R&D projects, warehouse inventory, and the right to use the Ursus trademark.M.I. Crow believes that this is a new chapter in the history of the legendary Polish tractor manufacturer and confirms there will be no layoffs and that significant investments will be made to increase the production capacity. The new owner also has ambition plans to put the Ursus brand back on the map worldwide. The Ursus brand name has been saved and so too have many jobs. However, not everyone is pleased. Critics argue that Ursus – which is still seen as a national icon in Poland – was sold too cheaply.
